Trip Day 4 Crater Lake

Today, we drove about 340 miles further south, stopping by the Crater Lake National Park. A long drive led my 4 hours nap after arriving at the hotel in Medford.lol It was nice sunny day with temperature about 70s.今日はクレーターレイク国立公園によりながら、更に400キロほど南下。天気が良くて、気温も20℃以上あった。今はオレゴン州南部にあるメッドフォードっていう何も無い街。７時間も運転してたから、ホテルついた後４時間も昼寝してしまった.....

A beautiful state highway 58　州道58は紅葉が綺麗で、200km以上ずっとこの景色が続いた
Mt. Thielsen セルセン山
Crater Lake is a caldera lake and famous for its deep blue color and water clarity. It is about 2150ft deep and formed around 7700 years ago by the collapse of the volcano Mt. Mazama. No rivers is flowing into or out of the lake, so evaporation is compensated for by rain and snowfall and the total amount of water is replaced every 250 years.
クレーターレイクは水の青さと透明度で有名。深さは約650ｍで、7700年前にマザマ山の大噴火で形成されたカルデラ湖。川が流れ込んでないし、流れ出てないから、蒸発と降水によって、250年周期で水位が変化するみたい。

Trip Day 3 Portland

Today, we drove down to Portland and visited the Pittock Mansion and Japanese garden. Unfortunately, we didn't go to the Saint Helens Volcanic Observatory because the sky wasn't clear. 今日は、シアトルからポートランドまで３時間ドライブ。途中にあるセントヘレンズ火山は悪天候のため断念。ポートランドではピトックマンションと日本庭園wに行った。

We had a grilled cheese and mac cheese at Beecher's Handmade Cheese in Seattle. 朝、シアトルを去る前に、パイク・プレイス・マーケットにあるビーチャーズ・ハンドメイド・チーズでグリルチーズ（激ウマ）とマカロニチーズ（普通）を食べた。
Pittock Mansion, a French-Renaissance-style house built for The Oregonian publisher Henry Pittock. 　オレゴン州最大の発行部数を誇る新聞に成長した『The Oregonian』の創業者ヘンリー・ピトック夫妻が1914年に完成させたもので、大陸北西部の素材にこだわりながら、トルコや英国様式も取り入れたフランス・ルネッサンス調の城のような大邸宅。
