The south swell has become smaller and smaller, but some 2-3ft overhead waves created perfect bowls.
昨日と比べてだいぶサイズは落ちたけどたまに来るセットはダブル近くあった。

I paddled out from the Magic Island, where some sets were bigger than double-overhead size. I got my GoPro recording this one big wave that I only could take off today. After pulling out, several super huge waves were rolling in and I could not made duck-dives successfully, which I was afraid of, and was nearly drowned.
アラモアナビーチのかなり沖の方で、自身のサーフィン歴で一番大きいダブルオーバーヘッドに挑戦。セットのサイズはフェイス＞３m。数回テイクオフを試みたけどなかなか飛び込む勇気がでず......w　そしていい感じのセットが来て、何を思ってかセット1つ目の波でテイクオフ。テイクオフのあとボトムで見上げたら万里の長城だったw　前に滑ってはいけないと思ってそのままプルアウト。そして恐れていた事がwドルフィンスルーが効かずダブルより遥かに大きい波に２回直撃くらうはめに。ふくらはぎはつって、息がもたなくて水は飲むし、なかなか出れなくて死ぬかと思ったー　GoProに一回目のドルフィンが効かず、波に体だけ持ってかれていく様子がうつってたw　無理をしないサーフィンをしていこうと決意した日でした。

Surf Report. S-SW 5-7ft Hawaiian size(8-15ft face size, overhead~2ft double-overhead). I just watched the live camera and all south facing shores seem being on FIRE!!!

昨日のワイルペセッション。久しぶりの頭半サイズは辛かった.... 風が強くて、カレントも強くて、モンスターセットから逃げてばっかりで、帰りのパドルインは２０分以上かかったww

I'm almost finishing revising my thesis. It's been two years since I came to Hawaii and started a master program in Met. Dept. at UH. Faculty and students in the Met. Dept. in the picture below.
ハワイにきてから丸２年、ようやく論文も一段落がつきそう。写真は学部大学院生のポスター。

Teahupoo チャウプー

Billabong Pro started today at Teahupoo, Tahiti. The world heaviest wave attracts pro-surfers getting into the most exciting, but dangerous barrel above shallow corals.
タヒチのチャウプーでビラボン・プロが今日始まった。世界で一番重くて厚くてほれる波で有名なチャウプー。ダブルオーバーヘッドが割れる辺りは大体1.5mほどの水深とか....リップに巻かれたら大変。

Defense ディフェンス

I have done my master's defense today. All I need to do is revising for the final draft of my thesis in 2 weeks!
今日、修士号のディフェンス（プレゼン＆口頭試験）が終わった。後は２週間で論文の最終ドラフトを仕上げるのみ。

It was beautiful at a dawn session last week. 先週の早朝セッション。朝焼けが最高！だったけど、水は冷たいは風は冷たいは３０分で体が震えてきて全然楽しめなかったw本当にハワイの夏なのか疑った

I almost got into a small barrel! 後もう少し。ちゃんと巻いてくれる場所でやれば案外チューブライディングも余裕かも!?

my new 10km running course, Ala Moana/Kakaako route.5キロ位と思ってたけど、実際に走ってみると１０キロもあったアラモアナ／カカアココース。ランニングに慣れてきたらホノルルマラソンみたくハワイカイの方まで走ってみようかな w
