Aulani Disney Resort & Spa アウラニ・ディズニーリゾート

Today my GF and I spent our day at Aulani Disney Resort & Spa in Kapolei, west Oahu. This resort just opened on August 29, 2011. It was much more fun than I expected, although I didn't get to see any Disney characters..lol
先月29日にオープンしたばかりで、西オアフのカポレイにあるアウラニ・ディズニー・リゾート＆スパに行ってきた。ディズニーのキャラクターとかはいなかったけど、思ったより面白くて３時間以上もいたw　

There are many "menehune" in the resort. In Hawaiian mythology, the menehune are said to be people, sometimes described as dwarfs in size, who live in the deep forests and hidden valleys of the Hawaiian islands, far from the eyes of normal humans. I found a hidden menehune under the phone.
リゾート内にはあちらこちらにメネフネがいた。ハワイの神話でメネフネはハワイの島々にすむ小人族。メネフネウォーターで有名。 電話の下とかにも隠れてたw

Me enjoying a hot Jacuzzi at waterfront. なんとちょうどいい湯加減のジャグジー発見。真夏のハワイで真っ青な海とラグーンを見ながらのジャグジーは最高。

A chapel in the resort. I saw 2~3 Japanese couples having their weddings. ラグーンの側にあるチャペル。日本人カップルが２〜３組挙式してた。

I found a small hidden beach just outside of the resort and saw two Honu(turtle) here. Makaha is in the distance. ちょっと歩くと誰もいない（けど、ホヌ２匹はいた）隠れビーチ発見。遠くに見えるのはオアフ西海岸にあるマカハ。


Small wave session at dawn with my fun board. I attached a GoPro camera on the back of the board. 波が小さくなってきたのでファンボードの出番。 GoProをボードの後ろにつけてみた。

St. Louis Road

Because the weather was gorgeous, I walked all way up to St. Louis hill near the University this evening. The road is a mile long straight slope and nearly 800ft elevation gained. It was a bit tough to keep walking without a rest... but the view up there was just awesome.
天気がよかったので学校にいったついでに、大学の近くにあるセントルイスの丘？を登ってみた。最初は走るつもりだったけど、1マイルで300m位登るこのまっすぐな道路は歩くのもやっとw　上から見た景色が綺麗で、久しぶりに青い海を見た。下から見る海と、上から見る海では「青度」が違うw　また山登りはじめようかな〜

** Scientist Search, Track Missing Tsunami Debris**

Scientists at the International Pacific Research Center (IPRC) in the University of Hawaii at Manoa search for tsunami debris. ハワイ大学の国際太平洋研究センターの科学者が東北大震災の津波の残骸の進路を研究。ハワイ諸島の西海岸には2013年の春頃に少々、東海岸には2016年に大量の残骸が来るっていうコンピューターモデル（すべての残骸が浮いてると仮定して）の結果。

アウラニ・リゾートに行ってきました。アウラニはディズニーがコオリナ地区に開発したリゾートで2011年8月29日に開業。流れるプール、熱帯魚と泳げるプール、プライベートビーチ、教会などがある。園内にはたくさんの隠れミッキーやメネフネがいる。ちなみに、メネフネとはハワイの島々に住む小人族。

Biggest in 10yrs １０年ぶりの大波

The moster south swell from New Zealand generated the biggest wave in 10 years along the southshore of Oahu!! Some moster sets created tirple-overhead wave at Bowls and Diamond Head. On that day, lifeguards had assisted or rescued almost 400 people from the Ala Moana area to Waikiki.
今回ニュージーランド沖で発達した低気圧からの大ウネリは１０年ぶりの大波を記録。希にきたモンスターセットはアラモアナボウルズとかダイヤモンドヘッドでトリプルオーバーヘッド（〜４m）を記録。　火曜日だけで、アラモアナからワイキキにかけて、約４００人の人々がライフガードに助けられたり、レスキュー隊に救助されたりしたみたい。その４００人の一人になるところだった.....

I found this picture. This is the spot where I surfed on Tuesday. You can tell how big the wave is by comparing with people standing on the sea wall. That is about 1-3ft double-overhead size. I really don't know why I decided to paddle out......
サーフィンしてきた場所の写真発見。手前のシーウォールに立っている人と比べると波の大きさが半端ない。大体１〜３フィートダブルオーバーヘッド位かな。なんでこんな中出て行ったのか自分でも不思議だw　泳ぎが苦手だからリーシュ切れてたら完全に溺れてたなw
