After I met up with my professor and his wife in Tokyo, the first place we visited was Tsukiji Fish Market, where we had some fresh seafood bowls for lunch. Most dishes look good and decent price. Each restaurant is very small and there were long lines to get to each stand.

We wnet to Asakusa after the lunch. Asakusa(浅草) is a part of Tokyo's downtown best known for its many temples, particularly Sensoji(浅草寺). Unfortunately, Sensoji was on construction for renovation, so we coudn't see much of it. But we enjoyed for its old traditional Japanese view of Edo era(1603-1867). My professor and his wife were very interested in many stone statue of
Jizo.
(Kaminari-mon, which stands for "Lightening Entrance")
It was such a hot day about 90F!? The heat island of the big city Tokyo and moisture from the Tokyo Bay created a sticky moist uncomfortable air, which is its particular atmosphere in this rainy season in Tokyo.
