For those people who check my blog and think that I just go surfing every other day and hang out with people, I remind you that I study too! Well, as long as I look back my blog, it seems to me I just have fun here in Hawaii..lol So this time is about the school. このブログを見て、ハワイで遊んでばっかりじゃんと思う人たちへ一言、ちゃんと勉強もしてます!ってことで、今日は学校のこと。
I'm still researching each professor and their field of study in order to choose one professor whom I will work together as a GRA. Also, I'm thinking of what theme my thesis is going to be. By the way, the most interesting course I'm currently taking is Climate and its Variability. Besides learning how much the recent human activities have affected the global warming especially last couple of decades, I also studied about climate purterbation and response,i.e. radiative forcing.
The image shows one of the assignment in that course, questioning Climate Forcing(difference between forced state and base state) if 1)increasing solar constant by 1% and 2)adding IR opacity under each definition; a)Top-of-Atmosphere Definition, b)Tropopause definition with no stratospheric adjustment, and c)the full IPCC tropopause definition with adjusted stratosphere definition. I wonder if what I'm figuring out here is correct or not though....lol教授選びはまだまだリサーチ中。教授の研究内容にあわせるか、人柄を優先するか....まぁ色々考慮した上で10月後半にまでは決めたいと思ってる。今取っている授業で一番興味があるのは、「気候とその変動」のクラス。もちろん本題は、ここ30年の異常なほどの気温上昇はどれくらい人為的要因が関係してる!?まぁ簡単に答えれば「かなり多くの人為的、自然的要因があってそんな簡単には答えられない」ってのが答え（笑）もちろん、人間のせいで温暖化が進んでるのは確か。しかも、皆が頑張れば温暖化ストップも可能!!ってのが、コンピューターによる気候モデルで出てる結果。人間が活動停止すれば100年後には2～3℃低くなるみたいな。温暖化が進めば、海が膨張して、更に極の氷が解けて、海水面が上昇するって言われてるけど、そうでもないみたい。見かけ上は確かに氷が解ければ水が増えるかもしれないけど、極の氷塊と海洋の動力学はあんまり詳しく解明されてないから、海水面上昇について、温暖化はただ根拠がない理由付け。写真は宿題の一部で、簡単に説明すると、1.地球に入る太陽定数を1%あげたら、2.成層圏における赤外線の吸収率をあげたら、地球の大気はどう対応するか。難しそうだけど分かると簡単←当たり前（笑）
My room is gradually getting livable! Beach chairs, surf board, fan...it is like on beach=) Should I get a beach parasol for my room!? どんどん人が住めるような部屋になってきた。けど、よく見るとビーチチェア＆マット、サーフボード、扇風機にスダレと...って海の家かっ!!カキ氷作るやつ買わなきゃww
