St. Louis Road

Because the weather was gorgeous, I walked all way up to St. Louis hill near the University this evening. The road is a mile long straight slope and nearly 800ft elevation gained. It was a bit tough to keep walking without a rest... but the view up there was just awesome.
天気がよかったので学校にいったついでに、大学の近くにあるセントルイスの丘？を登ってみた。最初は走るつもりだったけど、1マイルで300m位登るこのまっすぐな道路は歩くのもやっとw　上から見た景色が綺麗で、久しぶりに青い海を見た。下から見る海と、上から見る海では「青度」が違うw　また山登りはじめようかな〜

Kuliouou Hike クリオウオウ.トレイル

I just upload some pictures of our hiking at Kuliouou Trail on Ko'olau mountain range. It was very fun 5-mile loop ridge trail, leading you to the summit of Mt. PuuoKona.

Sunrise@Olomana Peak オロマナピークでの日の出

Last weekend, my friend and I left the town at 4am, started to hike up at 5, and got to the first peak of Mt.Olomana in windward side of Oahu to watch the sunrise at 6:08am. It was scary to hike in the dark...... The Olomana's first peak is about 500m, where typical trade wind cumulus cloud base is located in the well-mixed moist layer. When we got to the first peak, the top was inside of the cloud, but was clearing up soon after the sunrise. It was typical trade wind condition and orographic lifting produced some cloud in leeward side (Koolau Range). This setup, which we were in between sunrise and cloud, made us see "Brocken Spectre" It was pretty cool to see it. We later climbed up and down to the second and third peaks where is dangerous, but fun!

先週末、またまたオロマナ山に行ってきた。今回は、真っ暗な早朝５時から登り始めて、６時の日の出に間に合うように計画。真っ暗な森を歩くのは少し勇気が必要だったけど、頂上での朝日は絶景だった！太陽の光が、山を挟んで、雲に照りつけてブロッケン現象まで見ることができた。その後は、初めてもっと危険な第２、３ピークに挑戦。高所恐怖症の俺にはスリル満点の岩登りだった。

Hiking@Kaena Pt. カエナポイントでハイキング

I went hiking to Kaena Point(Western tip of Oahu) with my friends yesterday. This is the second time for me, but took different route from north shore this time. Last time, I hiked from west shore. We had pretty massive solid N-NW swell yesterday and could watch some 20-25ft waves there. Perfect wind direction and swell made such a clean beautiful wipeouts. Oh! We saw few whales too!!
昨日は友達と冬休み最後のアクティビティとして、カエナポイント（西端の岬）でハイキングしてきた。前回行ったときは、西海岸から北上したけど、今回はノースショアからカエナポイントまでハイキング。昨日は、北から大うねりがきてて、６~７mの波を見れた。しかも、ちょ－奇麗な波！カエナポイントでゆっくりしてたら、遠くに鯨も発見！４匹くらいいた。胴体は見えなかったけど、鯨の潮吹きがあちらこちらで見えた。

Some sets were really huge like 25ft. セットは８メートルくらいあったかな？結構遠かったし、サーファーもいないから大きさがいまいち分からない。けどこの写真300メートルは離れて撮ってるからねｗ

Just a brief update again thanks to lack of the Internet access in my room yet!　部屋にインターネットが無いから自分のオフィスから簡単にアップデート。

I finally found my apartment last weekend and things have settled down, giving me some free time to go surfing and other activities with my friends!! It's not comfortable to stay in my room since there is no furniture yet like the image below. I need to wait for one month to get all kinds of furniture from my friend, so be patient and patient.　全然家具がないから住んでる気しないｗ


Anyway, I went hiking with my friend at Diamond Head yesterday. You can see pretty much everything around the south shore of Oahu from up there.　昨日友達とダイヤモンドヘッドにハイキングしに行ってきた。
